  • I see the message The paper source setting is invalid when making a copy from my product. What should I do?


    Note: When this message appears, press the right arrow button to see the supported paper sizes and paper types for the copy settings you've selected.

    To change your paper source and copy settings, do the following:

      This message is displayed when an unsupported paper size or paper type is selected for the paper source. The product supports copying on plain paper in these sizes: Letter (8.5 x 11 inches), A4 (8.3 x 11.7 inches), and Legal (8.5 x 14 inches).
      1. Press the  home button, if necessary.
      2. Press the up or down arrow button to select Setup, then press the OK button.
      3. Press the up or down arrow button to select Paper Setup, then press the OK button.
      4. Press the right arrow button to select your paper size. Select A4Letter, or Legal, then press the OK button.
      5. Select Plain Paper as your paper type, then press the OK button.
      6. Press the  home button again, then press the up or down arrow button to select Copy and press the OK button.
      7. Press the OK button again to adjust the copy settings.

        Note: The LCD displays the current copy settings.

      8. Press the  back button.
      9. Press one of the  Start buttons to start copying.
  • I see the message Scanner Not Ready or JOYUSING Scan will not start in Windows or on my Mac. What should I do?

    ry the following:

      • Make sure your product is turned on and securely connected to your computer or USB hub.
      • If your product is connected to a USB hub, make sure it's connected to a first tier hub (the hub closest to the computer) that has its own A/C adapter when more than one hub is connected to the computer.
      • Restart your computer.
      • Make sure JOYUSING Scan is set up correctly for your connection type by following these steps:
        1. Make sure the product is turned on.
        2. Do one of the following:
          • Windows 8.x: Navigate to the Apps screen, then select JOYUSING Scan Settings.
          • Windows (other versions): Click Start or  and select Programs or All Programs. Select JOYUSING Scan > JOYUSING Scan Settings.
          • OS X: Open Applications, then select JOYUSING software, double-click JOYUSING Scan Settings.
        3. If you see a JOYUSING Scan cannot be started window, click No. The window may appear twice.
        4. Make sure the correct scanner is selected.
        5. Do one of the following:
          • If the product is connected to your computer with a USB cable, make sure the Connection setting is set to Local, then skip the remaining steps.
          • If the product is set up on a network, make sure the Connection setting is set to Network and your scanner appears under Network Scanner Address with the correct IP address. If these settings are correct, skip the remaining steps. If the IP address for your product does not appear, go to the next step.
